Nelda Julia Graham Shryock

Nelda “D.O.N.” Shryock lovingly known as Nana, 79, of Maumelle, Arkansas slipped away peacefully in her sleep on May 8, 2005. Nelda had friends all around the world and from all walks of life. She was born June 1, 1925 to Earnest and Julia Littleton Graham in Louisiana. She volunteered many hours with mentally challenged children. She was the best cook in the world. She was famous for Mincemeat cakes, strawberry ice cream and other delicacies. She taught her children the ways of the world and how to take care of themselves etiquette and proper manners. She was an accountant and worked at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, William; and William Maurice, Sr. She was survived by children, William “Bill”, Jr., Lewis, Catherine and Leigh Shryock; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Minneola, Myrth and Ernestine; and a host of other family members and dear friends.
