How to Upload Files

  1. To keep the upload area private and spam-free, I use a simple email-based login.
    Here’s how it works:
    • Go to the Uploads page
    • Enter your email address
    • Check your inbox for a 6-digit code
    • Enter the code to unlock the upload form
    • Select your files and upload them
    • You’ll stay logged in while you browse the site.
    • If you return later, just request a new code.

  2. Staying Logged In Once you enter the code:
    • Browsing the site keeps your session active
    • If you leave for a while, you may need a new code
    • This keeps things secure without being annoying.

  3. Didn’t Receive the Code?:
    • If the code doesn’t show up:
    • Check your spam or junk folder
    • Make sure you typed your email correctly
    • Wait a few seconds — sometimes it takes a moment
    • Try requesting the code again
    • If you still don’t get it, contact me and I’ll help you out.

  4. Entered the Wrong Code:
    • If you type the code incorrectly or it expires, you’ll see a message letting you know.
    • Re-enter the code or request a new code and try again.
    • Codes expire after 10 minutes, so don’t wait too long.

  5. What Can I Upload?
    • You can upload:
    • Photos
    • Documents
    • Anything related to family events, history, or memories
    • Please avoid:
    • Random internet downloads
    • Unrelated content
    • Anything too large to email (the uploader can handle big files, but be reasonable)

  6. Who Can See My Uploads?
    • Everything you upload goes to Bill for review.
    • Once approved, your files will be added to the appropriate section of the family site.
    • This keeps the site organized and prevents accidental or inappropriate uploads from going live immediately.
